International and national airport information and speciality

Nowadays, people mostly rely on airplanes to go to foreign countries and other states. Keeping this in mind, airports have been constructed in the state according to the number of passengers and economic development.

 

NATIONAL AIRPORT

1. Belgaum Airport: This airport is 10 km east of Belgaum city. Located in the distant city of Sambra. It is also known as Sambra Airport. It was inaugurated on 14 September 2017.

 

2. Hubli-Dharwad Airport: Hubli-Dharwad Airport is located in Gandhinagar, Hubli. It is the only airport belonging to the twin cities of Hubli and Dharwad. It is about 20 km from the city. It connects to 10 cities across the country

 

3.Kalaburagi Airport: This airport is located along State Highway 10 near Srinivasa Saradagi village, 12 km from Kalaburagi city. This airport has been completely constructed by the Government of Karnataka at a cost of Rs 742.23 crores. On August 26, 2018, the airport was piloted.

 

4.Bidar Airport: This airport serves the civil enclave of the Indian Air Force, Bidar Air Base. Bidar Airfield is one of the oldest military airfields in India. This air force also has a training school for pilots. After a long-standing demand for a civil airport at Bidar, the Indian Air Force has allowed commercial flights to operate.

 

5. Bellary Airport: It is also known as Jindal Vijayanagar Airport. This airport is located near Vidyanagar township in Bellary. Hence this airport is also known as Vidyanagar Airport. It was the private airport of Jindal Steel Factory in Torangallu area of Vimana Bellary.

 

INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

 

Bangalore Kempegowda International Airport: It is located near Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bangalore. It consists of two terminals and the second terminal has attracted the attention of the whole world. Also, it has earned the distinction of being the most beautiful terminal in the world. On the other hand, due to the passenger traffic in the two terminals of this airport, there is a discussion about the allocation of space for the construction of another airport near the city.

 

Specialties of Kempegowda Airport

 

Kempegowda International Airport is located at Devanahalli, about 30 kilometers north of the capital city of Bangalore. Thousands of international passengers travel from here every day. Originally located in Bangalore at first, HAL is the airport. It was established in 1942 for military and defense purposes.

 

2. Mangalore International Airport: Mangalore Airport is located in Bajape and is among the list of international airports in the state. The airport is located in Mangalore, Dakshina Kannada, a coastal region of Karnataka. It is the second busiest airport in Karnataka.

 

Its terminal, which was small in the early 2000s, has been modernized. In 2006, Air India Express began international flight operations to Dubai. On 28 September 2012, an Airbus A310 landed here for the first time.
