Solar panel installation on roof for 300 units free electricity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the project on February 15, 2024. The central government has paid Rs. 75,021 crore has been earmarked for massive grants. Under this scheme, the government aims to provide 300 units of free electricity by installing solar panels on the roof of one crore houses across the country.

The key elements of the project
The Prime Minister Surya Ghar Project includes several important aspects, which encourages homeowners to adopt solar energy:

Subsidy from Government: Significant subsidy is available for installing solar panels on the roof of the home.
Low Interest Loan Facility: Low interest rates are provided to install solar power plants.
300 units per month: Beneficiaries can get 300 units of free electricity per month.
Revenue from additional power sales: Selling additional electricity is Rs. 17,000 to Rs. Up to 18,000 can earn income.
Cost Savings to Government: This scheme is Rs. It is expected to save 75,000 crore power generation costs.

Who is eligible for this project?

To qualify for Prime Minister Surya Ghar project, the following standards must be met:

The beneficiary must be an Indian citizen.
There should be own home and suitable space to install solar panels on the roof of the house.
There should be a suitable electrical connection in the home.
The beneficiary should not have previously received any subsidy from the government for the installation of solar panels
